Web Design/Development Process Overview

CWI’s unique business oriented and customer focused design process ensures you are 100% satisfied. Complete costs are always exactly as stated within the formal proposal you receive, rather than price ranges that can change on you. At CWI, you will find no hidden fees like with many other providers. The costs can be split into multiple payments depending on your companies budgeting needs. Here's how it all works:

1) Initial Contact - Start by calling us at 1-800-832-9CWI, or filling out our online Business RFP (Request For Proposal) Form.

2) Interactive Phone Consultation or Visit - Once we hear from you, someone from our Custom Design and Web Development Team will spend some time on the phone with you to get a sense of your business, goals and your unique needs and requirements. We'll ask you a number of questions about what you're looking for in a website or web application, and he or she will give you an initial assessment of your options, as well as give you some suggestions based on our 10 years of online experience.

 CWI Design Process

If you are near one of CWI’s small business centers, we will schedule an in person consultation and review in a comfortable presentation office environment. Depending on your needs, you can add many other options, such as photography services, merchant accounts, online marketing, or matching company branding and stationery designs at the same time, or separately in the future as the need arises.

3) Formal Proposal - A document breaking down exactly what we are going to do and how much it will cost is presented after we get to know you through the consultation phase. This is usually prepared within 48 hours of your consultation, depending on the project size. If everything in the proposal is to your satisfaction, and you sign it with a deposit, we get started right away.

4) Content Gathering - We will work with you to gather images, text, special materials and logos that you want to be part of your new custom site or web application, providing you a specific check list of items we need from you to start the build. The amount of “homework” you get from CWI depends on the project itself and the amount of content not created by CWI, e.g.: some already have logos and photos that we would need to collect for the build while others may need CWI to create them and opt for copywriting and research services as well to handle the content on their behalf.

5) Design - We'll incorporate your content and ideas into some design drafts of your project. However, unlike most providers, you will get at least 2 or 3 style versions to choose from initially, and a second set with more feedback if none are 100% perfect for your business. CWI only continues when you select a design mockup. Because CWI actually gives you choices upfront for the possible look and feel, our unique process ensures your satisfaction at the end. Since CWI only receives final payment on completion, you are assured it will be completed. You'll be able to view and interact with your site online, where we can build live or in a test environment.

6) Revisions - After the design is selected, and the site is completely built, your CWI Account Manager will go through at least 2 sessions of feedback and revisions with you, walking you through your new site and making sure everything is as expected. Each project also automatically comes with support and minor revisions for 1 year after your site is complete, at no additional cost, so even if small changes within the scope of your project arise after these final reviews, you are covered. At CWI we don’t nickel and dime you to death every time you need some help with your site and include a content management system with most projects so you can do content updates yourself in real-time, and without any additional software or special skills. Keep in mind that most other development companies charge you maintenance and service fees, driving the costs up over the long run.

7) Publishing and Training - Once you've approved your project, we will publish it on the internet and if needed, include a day of site feature training to make sure you are aware of all the features and how to use them on your new site for your success. Your training will cover the setup and configuration of email, proper use of your ecommerce systems (merchant account, shopping cart, order processing, forms etc), as well as, how to use your content management system to update your site on the fly. Additional topics can be covered as dictated by the individual and the project specifications.
